5 September – Teacher’s Day

Every year 5th of September is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in the country. It is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, he was born in 1962. He became the first Vice President of India and also became the first President of free India.

7 September – Independence Day of Brazil

Brazil celebrates its inference day on the 7th of September every year. It is also known as Sete de Setembro! Before independence, it was under the Portuguese. A declaration of independence from Portugal was made on 7th September 1822 by Pedro di Alcantara, son of the Portuguese king. World Literacy Day was proclaimed by UNESCO in 1966 to spread the awareness and importance of literacy in the International community. 10 September – World Suicide Prevention Day

The day 10th September is observed as World Suicide Prevention Day internationally. Its major objective is to save the life of people by committing suicide. This day was celebrated in 2021 with the theme Creating hope through action”.

14 September – Hindi Diwas

Hindi Diwas is celebrated on 14 September in India. This day has great importance, on this day, In 1949 Constitution Assembly adopted Hindi written in Devanagari as the official language of India. Hindi comes under the most spoken language in the world now. It is the first language of 40% of people residing in India or foreign countries also.

15 September – Engineers Day

Every year 15th of September is celebrated as Engineers Day. It is observed every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of engineering pioneer and Bharat Ratna Awardee, sir Mokshagundam Vishweshvaraya. The day is celebrated since 1968 to recognize the contribution of engineers to the development of the country. It aims to make Engineers efficient in their field and contribute their knowledge to make the nation strong.

16 September – World Ozone Day

World Ozone Day is celebrated on 16th September every year to make the ozone layer safe and make people safe from harmful UV rays. The day aims to spread awareness among the people about the depletion of the Ozone layer and search for possible ways to preserve it.

17 September – World Patient Safety Day

World Patient Safety Day is observed on the 17th of September every year.  It was established by the 72nd World Health Assembly in May 2019, following the adoption of resolution WHA72.6 on ‘ Global action on patient safety.

18 September – World Bamboo Day

World Bamboo day is observed on 18 September to increase awareness about bamboo globally. This year the theme of World Bamboo Day 2022 is- Bamboo for Green Life and Sustainable Development.

21 September – International Day of Peace

International Day of Peace (UN) is observed on 21st September around the world. For the first time it was observed in September 1982 and in 2001, the General Assembly adopted a resolution 55/282, which established 21 September as the International Day of Peace of non-violence and cease-fire.
