The SSC CGL Tier I 2018-19 exam was conducted from 04.06.2019 to 13.06.2019 (for 7 days) with a re-examination conducted on 19th June 2019. The result for SSC CGL Tier 1 was declared by the Commission on 20th August 2019. SSC has now released the SSC CGL Tier I marks for 2018-19. Important Points To Be Taken Into Consideration

  • Based on the marks scored in Tier-I Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examination.
  • Marks will be normalized as the exam was conducted in various shifts.
  • The total Number of candidates who registered for SSC CGL was 25.97 lakh.
  • The number of Candidates appeared in the Examination is 8,34,746
  • The overall percentage of attendance is calculated as 32.27%

Normalization of Marks

As the marks will be normalization in SSC CGL Tier 1, it is difficult to predict the cutoff for SSC CGL Tier 1 exam. Since the number of candidates appearing in multiple shifts in the examinations conducted by the Commission is large and the procedure for allocation of examination shift to candidates is random, the following formula will be used by the  Commission to calculate final score of candidates in the multi-shift examinations:

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern

After the result of SSC CGL Tier 1 is declared, one will be required to prepare for the Tier 2. SSC CGL Tier 2 is CBE (computer-based examination) with 4 sections in the Tier 2 exam of SSC CGL 2019, comprising of 100 questions which account for a total of 200 marks.
