Staff Selection Commission will conduct the SSC CGL Exam 2024 in 2 stages i.e. Tier 1 and Tier 2. SSC CGL Tier 1 is qualifying in nature as well as compulsory for all posts and Tier 2 is scoring in nature. Candidates interested in the SSC CGL Exam 2024 must be aware of the SSC CGL Negative Marking to understand the marking scheme for the exam.

The mode of exam for Tier 1 and Tier 2 will be online. The SSC CGL 2024 Tier-1 exam will be conducted online comprising 4 sections with maximum marks of 200. The SSC CGL Tier-2 exam will be conducted in 3 phases – Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3. There is negative marking in both the stages i.e. Tier 1 and Tier 2 as well. SSC CGL Exam Pattern (Revised)

Staff Selection Commission has revised the SSC CGL Exam Pattern for Tier 1 and Tier 2. This change also includes the change in the negative marking. Earlier the exam was conducted in 4 stages which has been wrapped up to only 2 stages. SSC CGL Tier 1 is qualifying in nature. The final selection will be based on the Tier 2 examination only. There is no provision for Document Verification, the concerned departments will conduct the Final DV.

Negative Marking in SSC CGL Tier 1

There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer. There is no sectional cut-off. No mark will be deducted if the question is left blank or unattempted by a candidate. The Tier-I exam consists of four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

Negative Marking in SSC CGL Tier 2

There will be a deduction of 1 mark for each incorrect answer in Paper I and 0.50 marks for each incorrect response in Paper II and Paper III. SSC CGL Tier-2 exam is differentiated into three distinct phases: Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3.
