International Yoga Day: India is the birthplace of Yoga that means uniting the body with consciousness. It is the mode of exercise that helps in physical working out and offering mental workouts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing an event marking the seventh International Yoga Day on Monday morning, said, “Today, when the whole world is combating the coronavirus disease pandemic, yoga remains a ray of hope.” The Prime Minister also launched a WHO mYoga app that will be available worldwide. “In collaboration with WHO, India has taken another important step. We will be launching the mYoga app which will have yoga training videos in different languages for people across the world. This will help us achieve our ‘One World, One Health’ motto,” he added. “I am hopeful that this app will help promote one world one health. When India proposed International Day of Yoga in the United Nations, it was the spirit behind it to make this yoga science accessible to the whole world,” PM Modi said in his televised address on the International Yoga Day program this morning

Why International Yoga Day is celebrated?

The motto behind celebrating International Yoga Day is to spread awareness among people about the benefits of Yoga. The asanas in Yoga were designed by the Indian ancient experts in such a way that they are highly beneficial for different health issues.
