UPSC IAS Cut Off 2019: Cut Offs for EWS Lower Than OBC Candidates
Union Public Service Commission released the final result for Civil services examination 2019 where a total of 829 candidates have been recommended for the final selection to IAS, IPS, IRS and various group A and B central posts. UPSC Civil Services 2019 Written Test was conducted in September 2019 and the interviews for Personality Test were held in February-August, 2020. UPSC has now released the cut off for Preliminary, Mains and final IAS examination where the cut-offs for EWS candidates were found to be lower than OBC candidates. UPSC CSE Cut Off 2019
As depicted by the table given below, the preliminary cut off for General category was 98 marks out of 200 as compared to 95.34 and 90 marks for OBC and EWS category respectively. This is the first time that UPSC included EWS category in its list and it seems that EWS candidates have not been able to make it without the quota looking at the cut-offs given below. UPSC Prelim Cut Off Marks (Previous Years)
The preliminary exam consists of 2 papers but the marks scored in Paper 1 are only considered to decide the cut-off. Paper 2 is only qualifying with 33% marks. The cut-off marks of Paper 1 out of 200 marks are given below:

UPSC IAS Mains Cut Off Marks (Previous Years)
The mains examination is subjective in nature and consists of 9 Papers in total out of which 2 are only qualifying. The 7 papers comprise of 1750 marks and candidates clearing the cut off are required to appear for the interview.
