CSIR SO ASO Admit Card 2024: The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research has revised the CSIR SO ASO Exam Date 2024 for Computer Proficiency Test against Advt. No. 3-2(a)/2023-E. I (RC). CSIR has decided to reconduct CPT earlier scheduled on 7th July 2024 against the complaints by the examinees.

CSIR SO ASO Re-Exam 2024

The Council will conduct the re-examination for the CPT only on 31st August and 1st September 2024. The re-examination is only for those candidates who were unable to upload all three files i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint within the stipulated time of CPT. Only these candidates have the option to reappear for the examination, but their performance on 7th July 2024 will not be evaluated and the result will be based on the new exam only. CSIR SO ASO Exam Pattern for Papers 1, 2 and 3

Candidates who have applied for CSIR SO ASO 2024 should check the complete exam pattern for better knowledge and preparation.

Paper 1. There are 2 subjects which include General Awareness and English. A total of 150 questions will be asked from both subjects and 120 minutes will be given for paper 1. One Mark for each right answer and a negative mark of 0.33 marks for every wrong answer.

Paper 2. A total of 200 objective-type questions will be asked from General Intelligence, Reasoning, and Mental Ability subjects which you have to complete in 2.5 Hours. The marking scheme is the same as paper 1 (1 mark correct for the right answer and 0.33 mark deducted for every incorrect answer).

Paper 3 (Stage II). This is a descriptive paper in English and Hindi (Essay, Precis, and Letter/Application Writing) for a total of 150 marks which you have to conclude in 120 minutes.

If you clear all three papers then the last round will be an Interview or CPT (Computer Proficiency Test) which depends on your post (SO or ASO).

CSIR SO ASO Stage II Syllabus 2024

The official notification for the CSIR SO ASO Recruitment 2024 provides the structure of the Paper 3 exam. The paper will be descriptive in nature and will carry 150 marks in which the candidates will be required to write two essays, one precis and one letter/application.

The points below will give a better idea of how to answer these questions in the examination.

• Essay Writing: The candidates will be provided with an option to choose one of the given topics and present their points and ideas in a structured manner. The content of the essays should be to the point and focused on the topic.
• Precis Writing: The process of precis writing consists of two important points. Firstly, the candidates will need to abridge and summarise the given paragraph in one-third of its number of words. Secondly, there must be a title given to the answer written by the candidates.
• Letter/ Application Writing: The main parameter of writing the answer to such a question is to follow the standard format. As the number of words allowed to write and application or letter is lower, the candidates will be required to keep the sentences short and simple.
• CPT: Computer Proficiency Test carrying 100 marks for the posts of Assistant Section Officer (Gen/F&A/S&P) only. CPT is Qualifying in nature.
