How Many Candidates will be Shortlisted in RRB NTPC CBT-1? Check this article to know in detail. The railway has been conducted RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) examination in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways for 35208 Vacancies from 28th December 2020 to 31st July 2021. RRB NTPC is a great opportunity for candidates working in Railways. RRB conducted Stage I in 7 phases due to the surge of Coronavirus so that to take preventive measures. The railway department will soon release the exam dates for RRB NTPC CBT 2 2020-21. The official notification stated that “The recruitment process has commenced from December 2020 after easing of restrictions imposed on account of COVID 19 and is being held in phases. Further scheduling of CBT has been delayed thanks to various restrictions imposed by the affected states due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic once more. Candidates are hereby informed that further scheduling of examinations are going to be advised in due course once the restrictions imposed by various states are eased.”
RRB has conducted the exam for the recruitment of 35208 vacancies under Non-Technical Popular Categories like Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Commercial Apprentice, Station Master, etc., in various Zones and Production Units of Indian Railways for more than 1.25 crore eligible candidates.

How Many Candidates will be Shortlisted in RRB NTPC CBT-1?
Every year RRB releases a huge number of vacancies across India which has crores of applicants every year. As it has a large no of vacancies in various posts the number of applicants is more in numbers. It is a kind of challenge for any organization to conduct exams for such a large number of applicants. So it is necessary to make proper arrangements for the venues and the limitation of the seats across the country at the same time. As the number of aspirants is in crores so it is challenging to conduct the exam. So the exams have to take in a shift on different days and with a limited capacity of candidates.
RRB mentioned in the official notification that the Shortlisting of candidates will be based on the normalization of marks of the RRB NTPC 1st Stage exam. According to RRB, the number of shortlisted candidates will be 20 times the total number of vacancies released by the board. RRB NTPC 2021 Selection
- The final selection of RRB NTPC will be based on the performance of candidates in 2nd Stage CBT and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stages CBT and CBAT/TST (as applicable).
- Candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options
- Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates, and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates.
