The selection will be done based on the following stages:

• Stenography and Typing Test (90 Marks)
• Personal Interview (10 Marks)
• Document Verification
• Medical Examination

In the selection process, the Stenography and Typing test is the first stage and carries a composite of 90 marks out of 100. The candidates who qualify this stage will be called for the personality test and interview stage. The candidates preparing for the exam should be aware of the exam pattern and the details regarding the various sections of the test. • Before dictating the final shorthand passage to the candidates, the trial passage would be dictated at the same speed at which the final passage would be dictated
• The trial passage would not be transcribed and taken into account for evaluation, it will be only for checking the efficiency of the audio system and computer system.
• After the lapse of five minutes of dictation of the trial passage, the final passage would be dictated by the same person keeping in view the uniformity of speed.
• After the dictation of the final passage, thirty (30) minutes would be allowed for the candidates to go through the dictated passage and transcribe the same on the computer.
• Candidates are advised to continue typing (only for the typing test) for 10 minutes in full, in doing so they might repeat the same text after completing the whole passage, if they can, that will be counted in deciding the speed.
• The Typing test would be qualifying.
• A panel of successful candidates shall be prepared based on total marks obtained in the transcription of stenography and interview.
• Out of the successful candidates for the Stenography and Typing Test, candidates of only three times the number of vacancies in each category be called for an interview.
• The transcription of the Stenography and Typing Test shall be taken on a computer which shall be provided by the examining authority.
