IGNOU has announced a total of 200 vacancies for the post of Jr. Assistant cum Typist (JAT). The category-wise vacancy distribution is as follows:

IGNOU Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates interested in the IGNOU Recruitment 2023 must satisfy and understand the eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification PDF. Candidates must check the minimum eligibility criteria i.e. educational qualification and age limit.

IGNOU Recruitment 2023 Nationality

A candidate must be either:

1. a citizen of India or
2.  a subject of Nepal or
3.  a subject of Bhutan or
4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st of January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India Or
5.  a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

IGNOU Recruitment 2023 Educational Qualification

The candidate applying for the post of Jr. Assistant cum Typist (JAT) must be 12th passed from a recognized board with typing speed of  40 w.p.m. in English and 35 w.p.m. in Hindi on Computer.

IGNOU Recruitment 2023 Age Limit

• The minimum age should be 18 years.
• The maximum age should be 27 years.
• The cut-off date for age is 31st March 2023.

IGNOU Recruitment 2023 Exam Pattern

The detailed exam pattern for Tier 1 and Tier 2 is provided below.

Exam Pattern Tier 1:

• The exam will be a Computer Based Test.
• The exam will be conducted in Bilingual (English/Hindi) form by NTA.
• On the basis of CBT, the merit list will be prepared to keep the number of candidates to be qualified as ten times the number of vacancies.
• The exam will be conducted for 2 hours.

Exam Pattern Tier 2:

• The candidates qualifying for CBT 1 will be eligible for CBT 2 i.e. Skill Test/Typing Test.
• The test will be Qualifying in nature subject to a minimum qualifying speed.
