HPSC PGT Syllabus

HPSC has released the revised syllabus for HPSC PGT Mewat Cadre for 19 subjects and for HPSC PGT ROH Cadre for 8 subjects. There are three common topics for every subject/discipline- Educational Psychology, Pedagogy, and General Awareness. HPSC PGT Syllabus for Common Topics

The common topics in the HPSC PGT Syllabus are- Educational Psychology, Pedagogy, and General Awareness. Check the syllabus for the same below.

Educational Psychology- Concept, scope, and functions of educational psychology; Physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and moral developmental characteristics of the adolescent learner and its implication for teaching-learning; Behavioural, cognitive, and constructivist principles of learning and its implication for senior secondary students; Concept of mental health & adjustment and adjustment mechanism; and Emotional intelligence and its implication in teaching-learning.

Pedagogy- Communication skills and their use; Teaching models-advance organizer, concept attainment, information processing, inquiry training; Preparation and use of teaching-learning material during teaching; and Cooperative learning.

General Awareness- General Awareness questions including questions related to Haryana; General Mental Ability; Basic Numeracy; Data Interpretation; Logical Reasoning; Analytical Ability; Decision Making; and Problem-Solving.

Haryana HPSC PGT Exam Pattern 2023

Along with the HPSC PGT Syllabus, the commission has also revised the Haryana HPSC PGT Exam Pattern 2023. Check the revised HPSC PGT Exam Pattern in the table below. The revised Haryana HPSC PGT Exam Pattern 2023 includes 3 stages.

• Screening Test
• Subject Knowledge
• Interview

Screening Test- The Screening Test will be a qualifying test, where candidates need to secure a minimum of 25% in order to qualify for this stage. The questions will be of objective type for 100 marks. The time duration for this exam will be 2 hours. There will also be a negative marking of 1/4th mark. There will be 5 options, 5th option/bubble will indicate that candidates don’t want to attempt that question. Hence, candidates need to fill the bubble in such cases to avoid negative markings.
Subject Knowledge Test- This exam will be based on the concerned subject and will be of a subjective type. The total exam duration will be 3 hours and the total marks will be 150 marks. The weightage of this section will be 87.5% and candidates need a minimum of 35% to qualify for this section.
Interview- This will be the final round and the weightage of this section is 12.5%. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in the subject knowledge test and interview round.
