The Bureau of Indian Standards, BIS headquartered in New Delhi releases hundreds of vacancies for Groups A, B, and C every year. Selection Process in BIS

As mentioned above, each post has a different selection process including 2-3 stages. The posts under BIS include Assistant Director, ASO, PA, Stenographer, Technical Assistant (Lab), etc. For all the posts, an online examination or Computer-Based Test (CBT) is mandatory. BIS Exam Pattern 2024

Assistant Director (Various Specializations)

The exam pattern for the online test for the posts of Assistant Director (Hindi), Assistant Director (Administration & Finance), and Assistant Director (Marketing & Consumer Affairs) has been discussed below. Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in aggregate in the online examination to be considered for the next stage i.e. interview.

Assistant, Technical Assistant & Sr. Technician

The posts of Technical Assistant (Laboratory) and Assistant (Computer-Aided Design) are of Graduate Level, while the Senior Technician post is of Matriculate Level. Accordingly, the level of the question paper will be according to the post. The BIS will conduct an online exam for these three posts based on the following pattern:

ASO, PA, Steno, JSA, & SSA

Finally, there are other posts such as Assistant Section Officer (ASO), Personal Assistant (PA), Stenographer or Steno., Senior Secretariat Assistant (SSA), and Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA). These posts will have a common online exam of 120 minutes. Candidates will have to solve 150 questions worth 1 mark each in this duration.

BIS Syllabus for All Other Posts

The common syllabus for BIS Recruitment 2024 includes four subjects viz. General Intelligence &
Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and General Awareness. This syllabus is similar to most of the major competitive exams like CGL, CHSL, etc. Hence, candidates applying for the following posts can prepare for this exam easily along with other exams.

The common BIS syllabus applies to all the posts discussed above, except for the following conditions:

• The General Awareness section is not applicable to Assistant Directors.
• The Quantitative Aptitude section is not applicable to Assistants, Technical Assistants, and Senior Technicians.
• For these posts, all four sections are mandatory: Assistant Section Officer (ASO), Personal Assistant (PA), Stenographer, Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Senior Secretariat Assistant (SSA)
