Q. What is the last date to apply online for SSC MTS?

The Last date for receipt of application is 15th July 2020

Q. What is the date of the SSC MTS Computer Based Examination (Tier-I)?

The Computer Based Examination (Tier-I) will be held from 26th October to 13th November 2020

Q. What is the SSC MTS Age criteria for various posts?

The age limits for the posts as per the Recruitment Rules of various User Departments are:
(i) 18-25 years
(ii) 18-27 years

NOTE: There will be separate category-wise, State/ UT-wise cut-offs in Paper-I. As the vacancies for MTS are in two age groups i.e. (i) 18 to 25 years and (ii) 18 to 27 years, the Commission may fix separate age group-wise, category-wise and State/ UT-wise cutoffs in Paper-I.

Q. Is there any age relaxation in SSC MTS for OBC Category?

Yes, the Age-relaxation permissible beyond the upper age limit for OBC is 3 years.

Q. What is the minimum educational qualification for SSC MTS Recruitment 2020?

The minimum educational qualification for SSC MTS is passed in Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board.

Q. What is the date to acquire the minimum educational qualification in the SSC MTS?

Candidates should have acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before the crucial date which will be released on 2nd June 2020.

Q. What is the scheme of SSC MTS examination?

The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (Paper-I) and a Descriptive Paper (Paper-II)

Q. Is there any change in the SSC MTS exam pattern?

Yes, earlier the total number of marks for Tier 1 was 150 for 100 questions. Now, the total number of marks is 100 for 100 questions.

Q.Is there normalization of marks in SSC MTS 2020 examination?

Marks scored by candidates in Paper-I will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission.

Q. Can I give preference of states in the SSC MTS application form?

Yes, The candidates are required to give preferences of States/ UTs, in the order of priority, in the online application form.

Q. Can I choose only 3 states as my preference for SSC MTS posts?

Yes, you can choose as many states as you want. Candidates will be considered for selection against the vacancies of only those States/ UTs for which they have given their preference in the online Application Form. If a candidate has opted for all the States/ UTs, he/ she will be considered for the vacancies of all the States/ UTs.

Q. Can I change my preference of states later after the final submission of SSC MTS application?

Preference of States/ UTs exercised by the candidates in the online Application Form will be treated as final and no change in the preference of States/ UTs will be allowed later under any circumstances.

Q. Is paper-II qualifying in nature?

Paper-II will only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills. However, marks scored by the candidates in Paper-II will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in Paper-I.

Q. What is the application fee?

The application Fee is Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only).

Q. Who are exempted from paying the application fee?

Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes(SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

MTS 2019 Pay Scale:

Multi-Tasking Staff in Pay Band-1( 5200- 20200/-) + Grade Pay 1800/- (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level).

SSC MTS Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme:-

SSC MTS Tier-I Exam

SSC MTS Tier-I Exam includes four parts Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, English and General Awareness:

  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • The questions will be set both in English & Hindi.

SSC MTS Tier-II Exam

SSC MTS Tier-II will be descriptive in which the candidate will be required to write short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.

SSC MTS Tier-II will only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills in view of recategorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements.
