World Veterinary Day

World Veterinary Day is celebrated every year to promote and recognize the work of veterinarians. World Veterinary Association established that the World Veterinary Day must be celebrated every year on the last Saturday of April. It raises awareness regarding the need for animal and human welfare highlighting the importance of practices to be adopted to ensure food safety and animal transport.

World Veterinary Day 2020 Theme

The World Veterinary Day falls on 25th April this year and the theme is “Environmental protection for improving animal and human health.” The theme for this year is concerned with protecting the environment to improve the health of animals and humans. We must make an environment-friendly atmosphere suitable for both animals and humans.

World Veterinary Day History

The history of the World Veterinary Day traces back to 1959 when the World Veterinary Association was formed. The mission of the Association was to focus on animal health and welfare, and the environment and public health. In 2001, the World Veterinary Association declared that there will be a World Veterinary Day to be celebrated on the last Saturday of April. The aim is to promote the veterinary profession and the health of animals.

What does a Veterinary do?

A Veterinary is responsible for taking care of the health of the animals. Their main job is to take care of the animals who are sick. Animals can’t speak as humans do so it can be a difficult task to find the problem and then treat them. The health of the animals and humans concerned with them must not be compromised.
