Uttar Pradesh Sugam Sanyojan Yojana

The People of Uttar Pradesh have always faced hardships related to getting electricity connections and struggled with the power crises prevailing in the state of Uttar Pradesh for ages. The state government is working in unison with the center to eliminate these hitches. To overcome such problems related to electricity connection and crisis, Uttar Pradesh Sugam Sanyojan Yojana was announced by the state. It will deliver new connections quickly within a brief duration.

The Sugam Sanyojan Yojana is linked with the “Power for All” initiative. The authorized announcement of the scheme was done by the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath in 2017. The monitoring and implementation tasks are rested on the State Electricity Department. The CM will have to report to the Central Power Minister about the progress under this Uttar Pradesh Sugam Sanyojan Yojana. This Sugam Sanyojan Yojana is a milestone in solving power-related issues of Uttar Pradesh at the grassroots level.

Vital attributes of the Uttar Pradesh Sugam Sanyojan Yojana

24-hour electricity – As per the features of the scheme, the state government is trying to provide electricity for all, living in the remotest parts of the state, within a short time. The power will be provided for 24 hours.
Linked with the Power for All Scheme – It will not be possible for the state government to produce such huge amounts of electricity for meeting the requirements of all new connections. Thus, the state has signed the Power for All scheme, headed by the central government.
1 to 5 KW Power – As per the declaration, the state will assist the people by providing new connections and by supplying a power that oscillated from 1 KW to 5 KW

Cost Free for BPL Families – All applicants who belong to the poor sections and have the BPL card will get the amenity of getting the connection without paying any money.
Payment for Instalment – For the applicants who do not come under the BPL category will have to pay for the connection but to reduce the burden, the state government has kept the facility of paying in 18 installments.
Pre-paid connection – Under the Sugam Sanyojan Yojana, If the applicant does not have the legal papers of the home, then they can apply for the new connection as well. In this case, the connection will be pre-paid in nature.
Total Number of Recipients – After implementing the Sugam Sanyojan Yojana, the state government has been successful in providing a new connection to around 5 lakh 65 thousand households. This target has been achieved within a span of 50 days itself.
