UPSC Exam 2020: Union Minister Jitendra Singh had earlier stated that the exam dates of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) that were put on hold will be decided after May 3. While addressing the media on a TV interview, he stated “UPSC & SSC examinations that were put on hold due to lockdown, will definitely take place. We will take a call after May 3 & reschedule dates in a manner that it gives sufficient time to all the aspirants to reach to their designated examination centers”. He further stated that the dates will be decided in such a manner that sufficient time will be given to all the aspirants to reach their designated exam centres.
Various Central and State recruitment exams have been cancelled or postponed across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic. In view of the prevailing lockdown restrictions, including social distancing norms, it was decided that dates for all interviews, Examinations and Recruitment Boards, where candidates and advisers are required to travel from all parts of the country.

If there is any rescheduling of the exam dates, UPSC will announce it on its official website @upsc.gov.in. To reassure the candidates Jitendra Singh also stated that due to the lockdown situation throughout the country, Personality Tests for UPSC (IAS) 2019 have also been delayed. In the same way, the Preliminary exam will be delayed if required to keep the safety of the candidates into consideration.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh also requested candidates to not to believe and spread any fake news or rumour on social media and any update related to the exam will be uploaded on the official website.
