UPSC NDA 2020: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the recruitment notification for NDA 2 2020. UPSC will be conducting only one common entrance exam instead of two for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) this year. The exam will be held on 6th Sep 2020. The examination would be conducted for a total of 413 vacancies (370 for National Defence Academy and 43 for the Naval Academy). The recruitment exam was earlier scheduled to be held on April 19 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Note: All candidates should note that they cannot get married until they complete their full training of the course. Any candidate who marries prior to the date of exam will not be shortlisted for training, even if the application was accepted by the commission. A candidate who marries during the training will be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the Government.
N.D.A. & N.A. Examination (II), 2020 Educational Qualification
- Indian Army: Candidates should have passed 12th or its equivalent examination from any recognized board. Candidates appearing for the final exams of 12th standard are also eligible to apply for the exam.
- Indian Navy and Air Force: Candidates seeking admission in Indian Navy and Air force should have passed 12th/appearing from a recognized board or University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
N.D.A. & N.A. Examination (II), 2020 Eligibility Criteria
- Physical Standards:
- All the candidates appearing in the examination should be fit as per the medical standards set by National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination 2020.
- UPSC has set the minimum height and weight standards for candidates interested to take admission in Indian Army or Navy.
- The minimum height measurement to be eligible is 157 cms for Air Force.
- Candidates belonging to Gorkha tribe and hills of North-Eastern areas of India, Garhwal, and Kumaon, minimum height standard will be reduced by 5 cms.
- For candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height can be reduced by 2 cms.
2. Visual Standards
The distance vision of the candidate should be 6/6 in the better eye (6/9 in the worse eye). Myopia must not be more than 2.5 D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism. Appearing candidates should also have good binocular vision. The color vision standard will be (CP-III) for Army.
N.D.A. & N.A. Examination (II), 2020 Selection Process
UPSC NDA & NA I 2020 exam will consist of 2 stages, i.e., written exam and SSB Interview. candidates who clear the written exam qualify for the SSB Interview.

- Click on the link ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC.
- Candidates will be redirected to new page, candidates can begin registration by clicking on the links Part-1 & Part-2 Registration.
- In Part I registration, fill in Personal details and Educational Qualification, Address, Mobile Number and E-mail ID.
- Press on ‘I agree’ and registration number will be generated.
- Now make the fee payment and upload your photograph and signature image in part 2.
