UPSC IES 2020 Notification Released @upsc.gov.in; Download Notification And Apply Online

UPSC IES ISS 2020: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the notification for Indian Statistical Service (ISS) examination on 10th June 2020. Now, it has released the recruitment notification for Indian Economic Service Examination, 2020 under the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs). Candidates can apply online for the recruitment by visiting the official site at upsc.gov.in till 1st September 2020. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria must read the instructions carefully before applying online. The last date to apply online is 1st September 2020 for a total of 15 vacancies. UPSC ISS recruitment commenced from 10th June and concluded on 30th June 2020 on the official site of UPSC. The ISS written examination was conducted on 16th October 2020.

UPSC IES/ISS Vacancy 2020

• The approximate number of vacancies to be filled through the Indian Economic Service Examination is 15.
• The approximate number of vacancies to be filled through the Indian Statistical Service Examination is 47.

UPSC IES/ISS 2020 Eligibility criteria

Educational Qualifications

• For Indian Economic Service (ISS): A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics from a University.
• For Indian Statistical Service (ISS): Candidates must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Applied Statistics/Mathematical Statistics as one of the subject or candidates should hold a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized university.

Age Limit

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2020 i.e he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1990 and not later than 1st August 1999.

UPSC IES/ISS 2020 Selection Process

The selection process of UPSC IES/ISS examination consists of the following stages:

1. Written examination carrying a maximum of 1000 marks.
2. Viva-voce carrying a maximum of 200 marks.

UPSC IES/ISS Written examination Pattern

The examination pattern for UPSC IES/ISS exam is given below that consists of 6 papers for a total of 1000 marks.

• The papers on General English and General Studies, common to both Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service will be of subjective type.

Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Paper.

• Note-1: Statistics I & II will be of Objective Type Questions (80 questions with maximum
  marks of 200 in each paper) to be attempted in 120 minutes.

UPSC IES/ISS Recruitment 2020: Application Fee

• Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card or by using Internet Banking of SBI.
• Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates are exempted from payment of a fee.
