UPSC Civil Services Exam 2020 Will Not Recruit Officers In Railways: Check Details

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2020: In the latest news, UPSC Civil Services exam 2020 will not be conducted for the recruitment of officers in Indian Railways.  UPSC conducts the Civil Services exam every year for the recruitment of officers to the top services of India including the Indian Administrative Services, Indian Police Services, Indian Railway Accounts Service, Indian Railway Personnel Service, Indian Railway Traffic Service etc.

Now, a letter is written to the Union Public Service Commission by the Railway Board to refrain from appointing officers in Indian Railways. With this announcement, UPSC is expected to reduce the total number of vacancies released for Civil Services Examination by 300. Last year, UPSC released a total of 896 vacancies, a number drastically decreasing over the past few years.

Railway stated that recently it decided to merge 8 services into one called- Indian Railway Management Service and hence requested UPSC to not appoint in the new cadre. The recruitment process for the new Railway Management services is yet to be decided by the Board.

With such a major announcement, the vacancies to be declared for the UPSC Civil Services examination are bound to face a setback. UPSC will be releasing the official notification for Civil Services Exam 2020 on 12th February 2020. Lakhs of aspirants all over India prepare for this examination in the hope of getting selected in the officer cadre.
