Supreme Court Orders

Supreme Court has refused to scrap the Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGLE) exam of 2017. As per the reports, SSC CGLE exam papers for Tier 2 exam were leaked for which scraping of the exam was demanded by students. It was Advocate Prashant Bhushan who kept the allegation of the paper leakage and other malpractices in the exam in front of Chief Justice S.A. Bobde.

The SSC CGLE exam is conducted for the candidates who wish to have their careers in areas such as the ministry or many other such departments of the Indian Government.

For the selection of the rightful candidates, there are four stages that the candidates need to go through. The first and second stages are computer-based tests. Passing these two tests, the candidates go on to the next stages that are of descriptive questions and computer proficiency test.

After clearing all these stages, the qualifying candidates are called for a personal interview and the process of document verification and joining formalities start.

SSC CGLE 2017 and SSC CHSL 2017

In 2017, when the exam for SSC CGLE Tier 2 got conducted, some pictures of the questions papers were leaked on social media.

Based on these photos on social media, Advocate Prashant Bhushan showed evidence in front of the Chief Justice in the year 2019 about the leakage of paper that took place.

The Chief Justice handed over the case to CBI to find out the actual incidents. After the CBI has conducted the inquiry of the case, the government also mentioned that it will be ready to accept whatever results the CBI will be coming up with.

But soon the apex court came to a conclusion in the year 2019 that though the leakage of papers was proven, it is not possible to catch hold of all those candidates who must have taken advantage of the leaked paper. This is because remote computers are used for such an exam. In this case, it is not possible for anyone to make use of the internet while giving the exam.

The case is still on the go, while the court announced to finally declare the results of the exams that have been conducted in the year 2017. The SSC CGL 2017 final result has already been declared on 15th November 2019 and SSC CHSL 2017 final result on 20th December 2019.

Each year, thousands of candidates apply for the SSC CGLE exam to be at a position that can offer a bright future. Candidates who must have prepared hard and must have appeared for the exam in 2017 are still not able to know what exactly their future is. The results can surely let them know whether they have got selected for the desired position or not. But as of now, students are still holding their breaths until and unless the final results are not out. Though the court has decided not to scrape out the exam, the announcement of the results can get a new date if there are any more updates in the case.
