SSC JE Exam Pattern 2017

Dear Students, SSC has released the official notification for the post of Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, & Quantity Surveying & Contract) on 20th October 2017. It’s a great opportunity for all the students to get a govt. job. At Adda247, we advise you to fill the application form at the earliest. Staff Selection Commission will hold the examination from 5th January 2018 to 08th January 2018  in a computer-based pattern.

Scheme of Examination

Paper-I (Objective type (Date of Examination )

Examination will be held in a computer based pattern. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

Timing of Examination: 
Morning shift [10.00 AM to 12.00 Noon]
Afternoon Shift [2.00 PM to 4.00 PM]
Note: Entry to the examination venue will not be allowed after 9.30 AM in the morning shift and after 1.30 PM in the afternoon shift.

Paper -II will be held in a written format

Paper – II Marks Time
Part-A General Engineering (Civil & Structural) 300 2 Hrs.
Part- B General Engineering (Electrical) 300 2 Hrs.
Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical) 300 2 Hrs.

Note: Date for the Paper-II to be intimated later on.
Candidates are allowed to bring their own Slide–Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Tables and Steam Table for Paper-II only. They are not allowed to use such aids for Paper-I.
Candidates will be shortlisted and recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of their total marks in the Paper – I & II and preference for the posts.


General Intelligence & Reasoning: 

The Syllabus for General Intelligence would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type.

The test will include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to current events, Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc.

Utilization and Electrical Energy, Basic Electronics.


Mechanical Engineering

Theory of Machines and Machine Design, Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials, Properties of Pure Substances, 1st Law of Thermodynamics, 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, Air standard Cycles for IC Engines, IC Engine Performance, IC Engines Combustion, IC Engine Cooling & Lubrication, Rankine cycle of System, Boilers, Classification, Specification, Fitting & Accessories, Air Compressors & their cycles, Refrigeration cycles, Principle of Refrigeration Plant, Nozzles & Steam Turbines.
