SSC CHSL Descriptive Writing For Tier 2 Exam
Dear Aspirants,
SSC CHSL Tier-II exam is scheduled to be held on 27th September 2019 for the recruitment to various Group C & D posts under SSC CHSL. Candidates qualified in Tier I on the basis of the marks scored will be appearing for the Tier II. The Tier II exam will consist of a descriptive test to be attempted in pen & paper mode for a total of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II is 33 per cent. The SSC CHSL Tier-II exam pattern is given below.

Preparing for the descriptive exam can be a challenging task as it requires you to write on the topic within the given time. You can write the exam in either English or Hindi as per your convenience. The marks scored in Tier-II will be added to your score while preparing the merit and hence this paper should not be taken lightly. This article will provide you with some tips on how to write the descriptive paper and points to remember while writing the exam. Check out below:
- Essay Writing may carry 50 marks and 50 marks will be allotted to Letter Writing. Candidates will be required to complete the exam within one hour and need to manage their time accordingly.
- Prepare for the latest topics before appearing for the exam. Topics like Latest schemes by the government, the trending topics, new laws, etc are frequently asked in the exam. Stay updated with the current topics and latest news.
- Make sure to write one letter and one essay on a daily basis. Practising is the key to score in the descriptive test. You can practice in an exam like block designed sheets as that will increase your speed.
- Make sure to write briefly and concisely. It is really important to not exceed the word limit to avoid negative marks.
- Learn the format properly. Make sure you are thorough with the format of letter writing and essay writing. Know about the difference between informal and formal letters.
