Finally, SSC CGL Tier-2 2017-18 Exam is over after a dramatic incident happened to be on 21st February 2018 in the Morning Shift. SSC is a prestigious organization offering government jobs to a proliferating number of candidates every year via conducting various exams which is surely a hectic responsibility in itself. A majority of candidates may get infuriated with the functioning of the said Staff but dealing with the procedures including lakhs of candidates is not a piece of cake. After a technical issue came across on 21st February 2018 in conduct of Quantitative Aptitude Exam, delaying in the said exam was the only Hobson’s choice at the exam centre. Quantitative Aptitude Exam started at the usual time of 10:30 a.m. The exam was on its pace but just as 12-15 minutes passed, in which 8-10 questions had been attempted by the candidate(Veer), meanwhile a sudden announcement was made asking candidates to click on Exit Session option on the computer screen ascribing the reason that it was a decision of SSC Headquartered Bangalore and candidates were asked to wait until the next instructions. This eventual and unexpected incident caused the candidates to go panic and created an aberration in the exam environment wasting almost an hour in anticipation but what must be appreciated is that SSC had a backup plan which spared the candidates’ day in and day out hard work. With this back up plan, Quantitative Aptitude Exam was restarted at 12:30 p.m. after setting the log in time at 12:15 p.m. And then the said exam was conducted smoothly and successfully.
Delay in Morning Shift Exam effected the timing of English Language Exam by almost an hour. With the allotted entry time from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. This exam started at 4:30 p.m. and concluded at 6:30 p.m. There was no chaos or impediments in the conduct of English Language Exam and was conducted successfully. However, delay in Morning Shift Exam caused a chaos for a while but the way SSC managed the undesirable and perplexed situation in an adequate amount of time and did not disappoint the candidates present by postponing or cancellation of Exam but delaying for a while, must be allocated. SSC also released 2 notices on the same day i.e 21st February 2018 about the delaying of exam or the answer keys that was circulated on the social media. The commission has taken very serious view of this incident and is registering a complaint (FIR) with the Crime Branch, Delhi Police for further investigation in this matter.
