SSC CGL Post Preference: Check Grade Pay, Perks and Career Growth

Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL 2022 notification on 17th September 2022. A total of 20,000 vacancies have been released by the commission to recruit candidates for Grade B and Grade C category posts in various government ministries and departments in all over India. Applicants are asked to choose their preference for posts after the declaration of Tier- 2 results. All the candidates who have applied for SSC CGL 2022 Notification must be confused regarding the posts they should apply for. Assistant in AFHQ The job is an indoor one in which you need to assist the section officer to impart his duties of management, coordination of work to staff and distribution. Assistant in Ministry of Railway Clerical but above upper division clerk (LDC). Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Officer (SFIO) Assistants perform crucial office work in the Serious Fraud Investigation Offices. They are not in charge of the investigation but have to maintain detailed records about each aspect of investigations that the office is conducting.
Sub Inspectors (CBI) The job of an SI is analogous to the post of state police. But, CBI under the central govt. has more authority and power to examine cases and investigations. The job profile is extremely challenging involving various kinds of risks and the candidate has to deal with work pressure. No fixed time for promotion.
Order of promotion: Inspector after minimum 5 years, De-Superintendent after 10-11 years, Superintendent, Senior Superintendent

Inspector (Narcotics) Keeping a track of opium poppy cultivation in India, conduction periodical/regular checks in companies to make sure they are used wisely and not for illegal purposes. Sub Inspector in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) The job profile of SI in NIA involves a lot of activities like collecting of evidence, involving artificial intelligence techniques, examining issues minutely to get hold of the root. Workload post a terrorist activity can lead to increased work pressure. No fixed time for promotion.

Statistical Investigator A mix of office & field job. Requires statistics degree, data collection and processing to gather useful information for the government to implement schemes. Promotions are very slow.

Senior Secretariat Assistant Checking facts, identify errors, draw attention to previous cases or rules and regulations on the subject, clearly bring out the question under consideration and suggest a course of action
Compiler (Registrar General of India) The compilers are posted in the department of Statistical division. They are in charge of compiling different pieces of information collected from various sources.

SSC CGL Post Preference: Perks

  • Medical Facilities: You will become a member of the Central Government Health Scheme and that will give you the benefit of free treatment in almost all leading hospitals in the country.
  • Gratuity Benefit: You will be given the benefit of gratuity from the government. This will help save money for a better future.
  • National Pension Scheme: A person will get membership of NPS scheme once he will become a part of the government and he will be given a PRAN card. Under this scheme, a certain percentage of salary will be deducted and set as a contribution towards NPS and the amount is contributed by the employer.
  • Paid leave Benefits: You will be entitled to get casual leaves, privilege leaves, medical leaves, etc. A person will be given full payment even if he is ill.
  • Transport Allowance: An employee will be given transportation charges to and fro from office.
  • Mobile Bill Payment: For some posts,  candidates are given free SIM card and they are entitled to get a certain amount every month.
