Q1. I was born 30 years after my father was born. My sister was born 25 years after my mother was born. The average age of my family is 26.25 years right now. My sister will get married 4 years from now and will leave the family. Then the average age of the family will be 107/3 years. What is the age of my father?
मैं अपने पिता के जन्म के 30 साल बाद पैदा हुआ था। मेरी माँ के पैदा होने के 25 साल बाद मेरी बहन का जन्म हुआ। मेरे परिवार की औसत आयु अभी 26.25 वर्ष है। मेरी बहन अब से 4 साल बाद शादी करेगी और परिवार छोड़ देगी। तब परिवार की औसत आयु 107/3 वर्ष होगी। मेरे पिता की उम्र क्या है?

Sol. Let my age = M
Father’s age = F = M + 30
Sister’s age = S
Mother’s age = S + 25
(S+S+25+M+M+30)/4=26.25,S+M=25 ….(i)
(S+29+M+4+M+34)/3=107/3
S + 2M = 40 ….(ii)
From (i) and (ii)
M = 15, F = 45

Q2. In a one day match of 50 overs in an innings the Team A had a run rate of 6.1 runs per over. Team B is playing and 10 overs are left and the required run rate to tie the match is 6.5 per over. What is Team B’s score now?

Total run of A = 50 × 6.1 = 305
Team B needs 6.5 in last ten over = 10 × 6.5 = 65 runs remains
So, Team B score now = (305 – 65) = 240

Q3. A zoo has an average of 500 visitors on Sundays and 200 on other days. The average number of visitors per day in a month of 30 days beginning with a Sunday is:

Girls total marks = 40 × 20 = 800
Boys average = ((3600 –800))/40= 70

By alligation

Girls boys ratio in class 1 : 2
If 2 = 20

So, (60 + 10) = 70

Q6. The average of 44 consecutive odd numbers is 144.What is the largest number?

Let first no. be (x)
So, there are 44 odd nos.
Total = x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) + ……+(x + 86)
TOTAL = 44x + 2 [1 + 2 + 3 ……….+43]
= 44x+(2×43×44)/2
Average = (44x+43×44)/44=144
x = 101
Largest no. = (101 + 86) = 187

Q7. Average of M number is 55. If the average of first 7 number is 58 and that of another 5 number is 52. then find value of M when average of rest numbers is 53.5.
