Sol. PQRS is a rhombus
If s is the side, 4s = 68
s = 68/4 = 17 cm‘
Let the centre of the rhombus be 0.
OR= 30/2 =15,RS=17,
RS2 = OR2+ OS2 gives
OS2= 172 +152=64, OS = 8 cm
The other diagonal QS = 2 * 8 = 16 cm

Q4.Two adjacent sides of a rectangle are in the ratio 3 : 11. If its area is 132 square metres, then what is its perimeter?

Let 3x, 11x be the sides of the rectangle.
Area = 3x *11x = 33×2 = 132
X = 2
B = 3 * 2 = 6m, l = 11 * 2 = 22m
Perimeter= 2(22 + 6) = 56 cm

Q5.If each of any two opposite sides of a square is increased by one cm and each of the other two sides is decreased by one cm, we obtain a rectangle whose area is 63 cm2. What is the perimeter of the original square?

Let x be the side of the square.
Area of the rectangle = (x + 1) (x – 1) = 63
x2 – 1 = 63
x2 = 63 + 1 = 64
x = 8cm
Perimeter of the original square
= 4 * 8 = 32 cm

Let l = 6x and b = 5x
