Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) NTPC recruitment notification was released on 28th February 2019 to fill 35,208 vacancies for various posts like Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways and many other posts. Finally, today Railway’s chairman has announced the dates for RRB NTPC Exam. The RRB NTPC Exam will be tentatively conducted from 15th of December 2020.

More than 1.26 crore candidates were awaiting the exam dates for RRB NTPC and RRC Group D recruitment, for which the notifications were released one year ago. Earlier this year, when Railway Minister was asked about the reasons for not conducting the exams he said that the process of fixing ECA is going on and examination dates for will be announced after the selection of an agency. As per the official notice released by RRB, it is yet to finalize the exam conducting agency. As informed by a senior railways official, RRB needs a company that can manage to conduct exams for more than 1.2 crore aspirants. Hence, the board needs time to finalize the agency.

Delay in Tender Due To Lockdown
Due to the coronavirus pandemic and nationwide lockdown caused by it has led to the delaying of almost all the govt exams and halted all the operations related to it. This also includes the bidding process for ECA for the conduction of RRB NTPC exam. All the decisions related to ECA are expected to the taken once the lockdown is over completely.
Conducting Exam After the Lockdown
Successful conduction of an online Exam for more than 1.26 crore candidates across India after the coronavirus pandemic is going to be a humongous task for the exam conducting agency and RRB. Keeping safety and maintaining the social distance among the candidates will be a major challenge. Exam Centres and Dates must be allocated keeping in mind COVID-19 Safety guidelines including traveling to exam centers and social distancing during the exam in December 2020.
