# Reasoning Quiz for SSC CGL 2016

For the first time SSC 2016 examination will be held in Computer Based pattern and managing time will be one of the important factor while solving the questions. So in order to make students familiar with such a situations we are providing questions in a time based manner , which will help students to manage the time properly.

irections (Q.1-7): Find the missing character in each of the following:
1.

10
11
12
13
Solution:

The numbers in the right half form the series : 2, 3, 4, 5.
The numbers in the left half form the series : 5, 7, 9, 11.

2.

18
33
135
145
Solution:

We have: 15 × 2 = 30, 2 × 7 = 14, 7 × 9 = 63.
So,
missing number = 9 × 15 = 135.

3.

12
21
24
35
Solution:

We have: (27+54 )/9=9; (42+84 )/14=9.
Let the missing number be x. Then, (x+42)/7=9⇔x=21.

4.

125
215
251
512
Solution:

The numbers obtained by squaring the numbers at the bottom are combined together
physically to get the number in the upper part.

5.

35
37
45
46
Solution:

We have: 11 + 22 + 33 + 44 = 110; 16 + 24 + 32 + 40 = 112.
So, missing number = 114 – (23 + 34 + 12) = 45.

6.

35
48
72
120
Solution:

We have : (15 – 5) × (2 + 6) = 80, (9 – 4) × (7 + 6) = 65
So, missing number = (13 – 11) × (16 + 8) = 48.

7.

127
142
158
198
Solution:

We have : (101 + 15) – (35 + 43) = 38.
So, missing number = (48 + 184) – (56 + 34) = (232 – 90) = 142.

Directions (Q. 8-10): In each of the following questions, a matrix of certain characters is given. These characters follow a certain trend, row-wise or column-wise. Find out this trend and choose the missing character from the given alternatives.
8.

1
2
3
4
Solution:

In the first column, (6 + 7) × 5 = 65
In the second column, (3 + 2) × 4 = 20.
In the third column , (1+4) x 9= 45

9.
1      3     7

5     12    14
25     ?     28
125  192   56

64
56
48
40
Solution:

The sequence in first column is × 5.
Thus, 1 × 5 = 5, 5 × 5 = 25, 25 × 5 = 125.
The sequence in third column is × 2.
Thus, 7 × 2 = 14, 14 × 2 = 28, 28 × 2 = 56.
The sequence in second column is × 4.
∴ Missing number = 12 × 4 = 48.

10.
188     300      236

893       ?        915

88
96
238
500
Solution:

In the first row, (263 – 188) × 4 = 300
∴ In the second row, missing number = (915 – 893) × 4 = 22 × 4 = 88.
