According to Deepak, Ishita’s birthday falls on Thu or Fri …(ii)

From (i) and (ii), Ishita’s birthday falls on Thursday.

Sol.  The first is the force fighting on/in the second.
Q3. In this question, select the related words from the given alternatives.

Q5. In this question below are given two statements followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. You have to take the given two statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. Read the conclusion and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the two given statements ,disregarding commonly known facts.
Statements:
All men are married.
Some men are educated
Conclusions:
I. All men are educated. 
II. Some educated are married.

From the Venn diagram we can infer that conclusion I is definitely false. And as all men are married and some men are educated we can say that some educated are married is true.

1.5 × 2 + 1 = 4 
4 × 3 + 2 = 14 
14 × 4 + 3 = 59

Q8. If it is possible to form only one such number with the third, the sixth and the seventh digits of the number 7394261 which is the perfect square of a two-digit even number, which of the following will be the second digit of that two-digit even number?

Sol.  169, 196 and 961, which are the squares of 13, 14 and 31 Respectively.

So, 14 is even number

From the Venn diagram we can see that both the conclusions I and II are not true for all the cases. Hence both I and II do not follow.

Q13. In a row of 40 children, Y is eleventh from the right end and there are fifteen children between Y and P. What is P’s position from the left end of the row?
(a) Thirteenth
(b) Fifteenth
(c) Fourteenth

Sol. Y’s position = 11th from right
P’s position = (11 + 15 + 1) =  27th from right


= (40 – 27 + 1 ) = 14th from left

Q14. Find out the missing number from the alternatives given below.

Sol. In figure (A), (9 × 10) – (4 × 8) = 58 
In figure (B), missing number 
= (15 × 10) – (9 × 8) = 150 – 72 = 78
