Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday 26th April announced that the government has come up with a digital platform to link volunteers of social organizations, representatives of civil society and local administration. The new website COVID Warriors will connect volunteers of the social organisations, representatives of civil society and local administration. With the help of new COVID Warrioirs website, the social organizations, local administration people and civil society employees will be able to stay connected with each other. PM Modi has said that the Government of India has prepared this platform for the countrymen. Through the new COVID Warriors website, people will be able to stop the coronavirus from spreading. It will help break the corona chain.
COVID Warriors: What is it?
The new COVID Warriors website is a newly created portal and has complete details of healthcare Indian professionals and volunteer centers and also provides information related to doctors, nurses, ASHA workers, NSS, NCC, and people related to these industries are all present on the website. People can look for information on this and even become a volunteer to serve during the Coronavirus crisis.

PM Modi said, “My dear countrymen, I humbly and respectfully, today, bow to the spirit of 130 crore countrymen by bowing their heads. A digital platform has also been prepared by the government, so that you can do something according to your interest, according to your interest in the country, according to your time.”
COVID Warriors: Features
The website will provide details about hospitals, panchayat secretaries, veterinary doctors, trained health professionals from Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), doctors, staff and students from AYUSH (Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy), among other sectors, whose services are being used in the government’s fight against Covid-19.
According to official information, the Government of India has created the online data pool of doctors, paramedical staff and volunteers from NYKs, NCC, NSS, PMGKVY, and ex-servicemen for use by the ground level administration at municipal, district and state levels.
The information has been uploaded on a dashboard which is updated regularly. Informing about this very critical human resource for combating and containing covid-19, a joint letter was sent by Arun Kumar Panda, secretary, MSME and chairman, Empowered Group-4 on human resource and C Chandramouli, secretary, DoPT to all Chief Secretaries.
In an attempt to stop coronavirus the government hospital in Ernakulamhere, Kerala has also deployed a robot named ‘KARMI-Bot’ to serve COVID-19 patients. The robot will be used to assist patients at the medical college’s COVID-19 isolation ward.
Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to ban the public gathering till June 30, 2020.
