On the 9th day of the nationwide lockdown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on 3rd March at 9 AM in the morning via a video message where he asked the citizens of India to unite in the fight against the deadly COVID-19. He said that the 130 million people are together in this and must realise their strength in a difficult time. We must defeat the darkness of coronavirus with the light of our strength. He urged the citizens to unite once again just the way they did on 22nd March during Janta Curfew. He asked the citizens to switch off the lights of their homes on this Sunday, April 5 at 9 PM and light diyas, candles, torchlight or flashlight of mobiles, while standing at their balcony or door.
In his video message, Prime minister also thanked people for following the spirit of lockdown and maintaining social distancing. The Government, administration and the public at large, have made great efforts to manage the situation in the best possible manner. The challenging times must be overcome with the collective strength of the citizens of our country.
PM also requested the citizens to maintain social distancing and not go outside or gather anywhere for participating in the program. One must not cross the ‘Lakshman Rekha’ of their homes which is the only way to break the chain of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the confirmed cases of coronavirus in India have crossed 2500 with an overall 72 deaths. Globally, the virus has affected developed countries like USA, Italy adversely with overall cases reaching 1,015,877.
