National Career Service To Provide Free Career Skills & Job Opportunities
Good news for the Job Seekers! Ministry of Labour & Employment has tied up with the TCS ION to provide free online “Career Skills Training” for youngsters registered on its National Career Service (NCS) portal. The training will help people looking for a job in polishing their skills and enhance personality development. It will include modules related to improving interpersonal skills, corporate etiquette, making impactful presentation including other essential soft skills needed by the industry. The training module will be available in both English and Hindi languages on the NCS portal for the convenience of aspirants.

Ministry of Labour & Employment has been trying to implement a NCS project for employment-related services for a few years now. On its National Career Service (NCS) portal, it already provides job-related search options, job matching, vocational guidance, career counselling, information on skill development courses, apprenticeship and internships.

Online job fairs by NCS
Also, around 76 Online job fairs have been conducted by the National Career Service during the lockdown period. Labour and Employment Ministry said that online job fairs will help to bridge the gap between job aspirants and employers where the complete cycle from the job posting to the selection of candidate can be completed on the portal.
There are almost one crore existing job seekers and 54,000 active employers registered on National Career Service (NCS) portal and around 73 lakh vacancies have been mobilized through the portal so far. Around 1000 employment exchanges including 200 model career centres across the country are combined with NCS.
