1.( B)
Explanation:
In this type of question as time frame for both investors is equal then just get the ratio of their investments.
P:Q = 95000:35000
= 95:35
= 19:7
2. (D)
3.( A)
Explanation:
Now as per question, Kamal invested for 12 months and Sameer invested for 7 months.
So Kamal:Sameer = (9000*12):(8000*7)
= 108:56
= 27:14
Sameer Ratio in profit will be = (6970*14/41)= 2380
4.( C)
Explanation:
Arun : Kamal : Vinay = (8,000 x 6) : (4,000 x 8) : (8,000 x 8)
= 48 : 32 : 64
= 3 : 2 : 4
Kamal’s share=4005*2/9 = 890
5.( C)
6.( B)
Explanation:
Suppose B joined after x months
then, 21000*12=36000*(12-x)
=> 36x = 180
=> x = 5
7.(C)
Explanation:
A:B:C = (8000*6):(4000*8):(8000*8)
= 48:32:64
= 3:2:4
So B share = (2/9)*4005 = Rs 890
8.(A)
9. (D)
Explanation:
Suppose Ramesh invested x.
Then, Manoj : Ramesh = 20000 * 6 : x * 12.
120000/12x : 6000/3000
=> x = 120000/24 = 5000
10.( D)

Pleas post explanation
there is a small mistake in 9th solution , in quesion u said manoj invested one lakh twenty thousand but in d solution u considered that Manoj invested only 20000 , please check it madam
let the original amount be 100x.
so the amount of salt is 15x.
after evaporation ,
amount of solution =100x-30
but the amount of salt remains the same.
15x = 20% (100x-30)
x=120
let V is the volume of original solution.
1) initially– water= 85%
& salt= 15%
hence salt= 15V/100 ltr–(1)
2) after 30 ltrs of water evaporated then remaining vol of solution=V-30ltr
then salt= 20(V-30)/100 ltr–(2)
from eqn 1 & 2
15V/100= 20(V-30)/100
by solving we get V=120 Ltr
S/(S+W) = 0.15
0.85S = 0.15W or 17S = 3W
S/(S+W1) = 0.2
W1 = W-30
0.8S = 0.2W-6 or 4S = W-30
12S = 3W-90
17S = 3W
so 5S = 90 or S = 18 Kg
15% = 18
100% = 120
