2.US govt.’s the Legion of Merit (Degree of Commander) General Dalbir Singh Suhag (Retired)(for exceptionally meritorious service as chief of the Army staff, Indian Army.)

3.WHO World No Tobacco Day 2017 Award Delhi government’s additional director of health, SK Arora (for his extraordinary contribution towards tobacco control.)

4.Winners of 2018 Albany Medical Center Prize in Medicine & Biomedical Research – Three US scientists James Allison, Carl June & Steven Rosenberg.

5.Winners of mathematics’ prestigious Fields medal – Akshay Venkatesh (a renowned Indian-Australian mathematician)

6.24th Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Award – Gopalkrishna Gandhi chosen (for his contribution in promoting communal harmony, peace & goodwill.)

7.Japan’s prestigious Nikkei Asia Prize – Bindeshwar Pathak (Noted social reformer & founder of Sulabh International)

8.The PM’s award for outstanding contribution for promotion and development of yoga for the year 2018 – Vishwas Mandalik from Nasik & the Yoga Institute in Mumbai.

9.The CM of the Year‘ award – CM Vasundhara Raje (for her remarkable work in e-governance.)
It was given at 52nd Skoch Summit held in New Delhi.

10.French distinction of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier dans’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) – Kalki Koechlin (for her contribution in enhancing Indo-French ties in cinema.)

11.The 2018 World Food Prize – Lawrence Haddad (British economist & food policy researcher) & Dr David Nabarro (who has worked with WHO & UN on health and hunger issues)

Film/Music Awards

12. The annual Directors Guild of America (DGA) honours – Oscar-winning director Ang Lee

13. The Meryl Streep Award for Excellence at the Women in Film and Television (WIFT) India Award – Actress Aishwarya Rai

14. 3rd BRICS Film Festival took place in Durban, South Africa, along with the International Durban Film Festival
(DIFF).
Awards won by Indian films in the 3rd BRICS Film Festival, Durban, South Africa:
1. Best Actress: Bhanita Das, Village Rockstars,
2. Best Film: Newton by Amit Masurkar,
3. Special Jury Award: Village Rockstars by Rima Das.

15. Indian International Film Awards (IIFA) Best Actress (posthumously) – late star Sridevi (for MOM)
Best Actor Award – Irrfan Khan (for Hindi Medium.)
Best Film – Tumhari Sulu

1.The Game Changer of the Year award by a global cultural organisation Asia Society – PepsiCo’s India-born CEO Indra Nooyi (in recognition of her business achievements.)

2.The world championship at the International Geography Bee’s junior varsity – Indian-American high school student Avi Goel

3. Mohun Bagan Ratna‘(the highest honour of Mohun Bagan club) – former India international Pradip Chowdhury

4. INFRA Icon Award in the Global Energy’ category at the mid-day INFRA Icons Awards 2018 – Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)

5. The Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) ‘IPledgefor9’ Achievers & MMR Reduction Awards – Uttar Pradesh shown 30% decline & topped the chart.

6. National Kalidas Samman for visual arts – Noted artist Anjolie Ela Menon

7. Nabard 2018 award for its service to self-help group (SHG) linkage in Tamil Nadu for the fiscal year 2017-18 – Repco Micro Finance Ltd

8. Femina Miss India 2018 – Anukreethy Vas

9. Under India Smart Cities Award’ 2018 – Surat (for showcasing “great momentum” in the implementation of projects under the Smart Cities Mission.)
In the Innovative Idea’category – Bhopal and Ahmedabad (for their “transformative approach towards sustainable integrated development”.)

10. Best performing Social Sector Ministry award –  SKOCH Group

11. The first Tribal Queen at the Adi Rani Kalinga Tribal Queen competition – Pallavi Durua (Odisha’s Koraput district)

12. The Gold Award in infrastructure sector at the 52nd Skoch Summit 2018 – Ministry of Shipping’s flagship programme for port-led-prosperity Sagarmala.
