Youth Day-> 12 January
i.12 January of every year is observed as National Youth Day, the birthday of Swami Vivekananda a grateful nation is celebrating Swamiji’s hundred fifty-fourth birth anniversary with much fanfare.
ii.The government felt that the philosophy of Vivekananda and his ideals are a great source of inspiration for the Indian youth. So, it was declared that his birthday will be observed as National Youth Day.
Telangana Hosted International Kite Festival
i.The second international kite festival coinciding with the ‘Makar Sankranti’ fest held for six days from January 12, 2017 in Hyderabad and two other districts in Telangana.
World’s first Gender Literature Fest to be held in Patna
i.The world’s first ‘Gender Literature Festival’ is scheduled to be held in Patna, Bihar in the second week of April 2017
ii. The main aim of the fest to create a platform, to exchange ideas, and to share and learn experiences of renowned people in the field of gender literature.
iii. The festival will also act as a platform to increase visibility for gender equity and advocacy in the State of Bihar.
69th Army Day ->15th January 2017
i. The day is celebrated to pay homage and salute to the courageous and brave Indian soldiers who have been sacrificing their lives for protecting the country. This day inspires the troops to continue to enrich the glorious traditions of the Indian Army with their dedication and sacrifice. To mark the day, Army Parade will be organised at the Delhi Cantt.
