Health Ministry officials daily provide news briefing regarding coronavirus status with an appeal to citizens to come forward and report to healthcare facilities if they ar suffering from coronavirus or have symptoms to prevent the infection from spreading to their immediate family members, neighbours or others in the community.

What is Recovery rate?
Recovery rate is the percentage of the total no. of recover patients to the total no. of infected people. Recovery rate shows how many people are able to recover from the disease that has put almost the entire world under the lockdown

Recovery Rate in India
The recovery rate from the Covid-19 infection stands at encouraging 31.15%. Till now 20,917 people having recovered across the country so far. Union Health Ministry on Monday 11th May stated that A total number of 1,559 patients have recovered from the infectious disease in the last 24 hours. Kerala is managing a remarkable 94.22% of recovery rate, whereas states like Tamil Nadu (25.63 %), West Bengal (24.19%), Maharashtra (20.45%) and Punjab (8.95%) are lagging behind not just Kerala, but the national average.
Global Recovery Rate
Till now over 4.2 million cases of coronavirus have been reported in the world and out of these more than 1.5 million cases have recovered from the virus. The global recovery rate stands at 35.9%. The recovery rate of Spain is at 67%, Italy 48.4%, USA 18.9% and Russia 18.7%.
