Candidates must be eyeing on this recruitment but there are several changes that can be seen in the UPPCS exam 2019 as compared to the previous year. What are the major changes in the UPPCS exam this year? Check out the 3 major changes in UPPCS exam 2019:
5 Subjects Removed from the Mains Examination
Candidates are required to choose one optional subject from the list of given optional subjects to appear for 2 papers in the UPPCS mains examination. As per the latest change, 5 subjects namely social science, defence, agricultural technology, Persian and Arabic have been removed from the list. It means candidates who wanted to choose these subjects will have to choose any other subject to appear in the UPPCS mains examination.
2. 10% Reservation to the EWS category candidates
This will be the first time in UPPCS exam 2019 that 10% reservation will be given to the Economically weaker Sections (EWSs) candidates who are not covered under the existing scheme of reservation for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and Other Back Word classes and who are the domicile of U.P. State. Hence, 10% of the total vacancies are reserved for the EWS category candidates.
3. Change in the number of candidates to be selected
As per the latest change, thirteen times candidates to the number of vacancies shall be declared successful for the main examination on the basis of the Result of Preliminary Examination, and two times candidates to the number of vacancies shall be called for the interview. In previous years, 18 times the number of candidates were selected for the mains examination and 3 times were selected for the interview. This change will increase the competition among candidates making it tougher for them to qualify to the next stage in UPPCS exam 2019.
