Combined Defence Forces (CDS) Exam: UPSC has released the Official Notification for CDS 1 2023 Examination on 21st December 2022. UPSC conducts the CDS Exam twice a year. CDS exam is very important for candidates who want to be admitted to the Indian Armed Forces. Recruitment of officials in Indian forces by the United Defence Service or CDS. A Combined Defense Service Examination is organized by UPSC for recruitment in the Indian Army, Air Force and Water Force.

UPSC organizes written examinations and interviews for CDS recruitment after which the successful candidates are sent to the Indian Military Academy (Dehradun), Indian Naval Academy (Goa), Air Force Academy (Hyderabad) and Officer Training Academy (Chennai). CDS 1 2023 Notification: Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for CDS Exam 2023, a candidate must be unmarried and must either be:

A Citizen of India, or
A Subject of Bhutan, or
A Subject of Nepal, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

CDS Exam 2023 Application Procedure

In part – I of the registration, submit your basic information.
In part II, fill the payment details and choice of exam center, upload your photo and sign as per guidelines.
Save and submit it and take a print out for further reference.

The CDS exam centers are mentioned in the official notification by the exam conducting authority i.e. Union Public Service Commission. CDS 1 2023 will held in 75 cities in offline mode. CDS Exam 2023 Selection Procedure

The Combined Defense Services Examination is conducted in two phases- the first stage is the written examination and the second is the interview. This examination comes under UPSC and the examination of all the three forces is under this. If the candidate is successful in the written test then he/she is called for SSB interview. CDS English Syllabus

The level of English papers will be such as to test the knowledge of English language and comprehension of words in English language of the candidates. The syllabus covers various aspects like: Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English. Under this Parts of Speech, Tense, Articles, Identifying Wrong or Famous Idioms and proverbs of English can be asked from the candidates.
