BARC Recruitment: Posts under BARC
The recruitment for various posts under the BARC are as follows:
- Scientific (Scientific Officers, Technical Officers) through training schools and direct recruitment.
- Technical (Scientific Assistant, Foreman, Draughtsman, Technician, Para-medical staff, Fire service staff, Horticultural staff)
- Administrative (Administrative, Accounts)
- Purchase & Stores
- Auxiliary (Security staff, Driver staff, Attendant)
BARC Administrative Departments
In order to fulfil the vacancies, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) advertises for various post of Administrative Officials, Purchase Officials, Account Officials, and Stores Officials as administrative staff. The selection procedure for administrative staff involves screening test followed by a written exam/interview. The selection for administrative departments is based on the assessment by the appropriate Standing Selection Committee.
BARC Technical Departments
To cater to the need for technical staff, Graduates in science and diploma holders in engineering are selected through a one-year Stipendiary training scheme (Category-I). They are appointed as Scientific Assistant-B after successful completion of the training. Similarly, candidates having qualification of 10+2 followed by ITI certificate are also recruited under the 2-years Stipendiary Training Scheme (Category-II). They are recruited as Technicians after successful completion of the training in the various facilities of DAE.

BARC Scientific Departments through training schools
The recruitment of Scientific Officers namely Scientists and Engineers is through 2 major programmes namely OCES and DGFS. The exams are conducted by the BARC Training Schools and also through the Dr K.S. Krishnan Research Associateship (KSKRA) programme.
