Solutions

S1. Ans.(b)
Sol. Let A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, …, X = 24, Y = 25, Z = 26.
Then, M = 13 = 1 + 3 = 4;
O = 15= 1 + 5 = 6;
B = 2; I = 9;
L = 12 = 1 + 2 = 3;
T = 20 = 2 + 0 = 2;
Y = 25 = 2 + 5 = 7.
So, MOBILITY = 46293927.
Similarly, X = 24 = 2 + 4 = 6;
N = 14 = 1 + 4 = 5.
So, EXAMINATION = 56149512965.

S2. Ans.(c)
Sol. In all other pairs, 2nd number = (1st number × 4) – 10.

S3. Ans.(b)
Sol. In all other groups, the number inside the bracket is difference of the squares of the numbers outside it.

S4. Ans.(b)
Sol. In each set, 1st number = (2nd number)^2 – 1;
and 2nd number = (3rd number)^2 – 1.

S5. Ans.(b)
Sol. Sum of digits of the first number is 2 more than the sum of digits of the second number.

S6. Ans.(d)
Sol. Second is the sound made by the first.

S7. Ans.(b)
Sol. First comprises of the second.

S8. Ans.(b)
Sol. The series is babc/babc/babc. Thus, the pattern ‘babc’ is repeated.

S9. Ans.(b)
Sol. There is a gap of four letters between the first and second, the second and third letters of each term, and also between the last letter of a term and the first letter of the next term.

S10. Ans.(a)
Sol. The given series consists of cubes of natural numbers only. 256 is not the cube of any natural number.

S11. Ans.(c)
Sol. Each term in the series is the product of the digits of the preceding term.
So, missing term = 1 × 8 = 8.

S12. Ans.(d)
Sol.
